Wendy Tardieu

I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida, the setting for many of the stories in my short story collection, "The Ruined Grove". I have an MFA degree in Creative Writing from the University of Central Florida where I studied a variety of genres, from Contemporary Fiction to Victorian and Medieval Literature.

My favorite authors are Bradbury, Thurber, Dickens, Doyle, Poe, Chaucer, Wilkie Collins, Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman (of Dragonlance fame) and J.R.R. Tolkien. I have an equal passion for both escapist and literary fiction. No matter who your audience or what your mission is, to entertain and to enlighten are both significant and everlasting aims of a good writer.

I am a wife, mother and writing instructor. I am hard-wired to correct grammar, look for the other perspective, study the nuances of language and rock the literary boat. Check out my new Science-Fiction adventure series, "Ghosts of Winter".
